Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimmyenez, 2 September 1966)[3][4][5[3][4][5]), is an American and Mexican actress. Her professional career began in Mexico which she played in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991), and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) which brought her an Ariel Award nomination. Through appearances in films such as Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999) She quickly made her mark as a leading actress in Hollywood. Hayek's portrayal of painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) and the film she also wrote was the first Mexican actress to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress[6as well as earning her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek appeared in the action-oriented Once Upon a Time in Mexico pictures in subsequent years and then remained focused on directing.
